Targeting Organized Crime: The Drug Task Force
DA Hoovler established the multi-agency Orange County Drug Task Force in 2015. This collaborative structure is the mechanism behind our largest successes, ensuring drug traffickers are pursued across the entire county, not just in cities.
The Task Force makes more arrests for narcotics sales each year than any other law enforcement entity in the county.

Through major joint operations like Operation Powder Burn (the largest gun & drug case in county history), Operation Hot Lunch, and Operation Final Blow, the DA's Office has collectively seized:

- 150+ Illegal Firearms (including assault rifles and automatic weapons).

Expanded Protection & Outreach

- Community Affairs Unit: Conducts over 500 community appearances annually to promote anti-crime messaging and engage directly with local residents and schools.
- Domestic Violence Unit: Offers specialized support and dedicated prosecution for domestic abuse cases, ensuring victim safety remains the priority.
- Arson & Explosives Task Force: Provides specialized resources to investigate fire-related crimes and prosecute the responsible parties.
- Labor and Crime Tip Lines: Creates secure mechanisms for the public and workers to safely report wage theft, public corruption, and criminal activity.
