    • A Digital Discovery Platform: Develop a cutting-edge digital discovery platform that streamlines the transfer of information from police to prosecutors, utilizing AI to expedite case preparation and analysis.
    • A Robust Digital Forensics Unit: Continue expanding the Digital Forensics Unit, the only one of its kind in an upstate District Attorney's office, to provide comprehensive digital forensic support to local police agencies.

    • A Focus on High-Impact Crimes: Prioritize the prosecution of crimes that pose the greatest threat to community safety, specifically targeting drug offenses (especially those involving fentanyl), illegal firearms, and drunk driving.
    • Dismantling Criminal Organizations: Employ a top-down approach to dismantle criminal organizations involved in drug trafficking, gun violence, and other serious offenses.
    • Enhanced Targeting Strategies: Develop and implement advanced targeting strategies to identify and apprehend individuals involved in priority crimes.

    • Protect Residents from Fraud: Dedicate resources to combat fraud and white-collar crime that directly impacts residents, including financial fraud, public corruption, and residential contractor fraud.
    • Regulate Unscrupulous Contractors: Strengthen regulations and enforcement efforts to protect homeowners from unscrupulous contractors.

Key Initiatives: Programs and Task Forces

The 5-Point Plan is executed through a network of specialized units, task forces, and collaborative programs designed to target specific, complex criminal activities:

  • Arson & Explosives Task Force: A joint initiative providing dedicated resources to investigate fire-related crimes and successfully prosecute arsonists. (Supports Point 2: Targeting Priority Crimes)
  • White Collar Crime Task Force: Focuses on rooting out financial exploitation, public corruption, prevailing wage theft, and protecting the community from contractor fraud. (Supports Point 3: Combating Fraud)
  • Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) Program: A state-funded initiative in which the DA's office is an active partner, focusing on the most persistent gun-related violent crime hot spots. (Supports Point 2: Targeting Priority Crimes & Point 5: Community Engagement)
  • DEA Task Force and Task Force Targets: Dedicated cooperation with federal agencies to dismantle high-level narcotics and drug trafficking organizations operating within Orange County. (Supports Point 2: Targeting Priority Crimes)
